Stereotypes

There are many stereotypes that are well know around the world. Many stereotypes are not true and also may hurt people due to the false information. Stereotypes often fall into the categories of discrimination, racism, sexism, ethnocentrism, minorities, etc. I don't think stereotypes are right to people because stereotypes often begin based on another persons mistake. I don't think anyone should be judged on their religion, nationality, color of skin, or sex. An example of a stereotype I have heard that I highly disagree with is that men are stronger or smarter than women. Statics have shown that women are mentally more mature then men, however the conflict with who is stronger I think that all is based on the type of man or woman you chose to compete because I am sure that there are women out in the world that can lift up anything a guy can. Another stereotype I found was untrue was that all blacks are thieves. I think that if any man or women in the world has bad intentions in life will do whatever they need to succeed in what they want to do. Color does not make you want to kill more or steal.

FRIDA

Frida was a very independent women. She grew up to be a painter because she was inspired. After the accident she was in she still stayed strong. Most of her artwork was a reflection of her life. Even though she was in bed for a while that definitely didn't stop her from doing what she loved. Frida was heartbroken but continued to paint and find her love. No matter what Frida went through with either the accident or her divorce with her husband she still continued to paint. Her art work wasn't only a way she could pay bills but it helped her express her feelings rather than telling everyone. I think Frida was a strong women and helps prove the stereotypical view on women that they need a man to be depend on.

Facebook? Myspace?

Kids these days have newer and newer web pages to meet more and more people. This is a question I ask myself, is the Internet making the world a smaller place? Well many think it does because you can connect with someone in China or Italy all the way from America. I also think it makes it easier to meet people, however it is not all that safe to just talk to strangers because it is the Internet you never really know if their real name is Kristina or Christopher. Without Internet the world would be a bigger place because not everyone would be stuck at home just chatting. Everyone now a days are worried about what is the new meet spot, such as Myspace or Facebook. People need to expand their horizons and should go out to meet and see new people or even just to see and explore what is out there in the world.

College or Full-time job?

Teens and kids my age, are mostly concerned with their future. Some kids would rather just skip college and start working at a young age. Others want to go to well known colleges and pursue their dreams. I feel this is the toughest time of our lives because it will most likely effect our future with whatever decision we make. I am having such a hard time picking what career I would like to pursue & actually seeing myself working as for the rest of my life. At times I get a feeling that if i can get a job in whatever fields I would like to be when I grow up, then why go to college. However that would not be the correct way to start my life, if I attend college I will learn more than someone who just starts working right after high school, I would have more experience and knowledge. The only advice I can give anyone is to attend college just so they can learn more & be more prepared for the career of their choice.
